Privacy Notice

What we collect and why

• Account data — name, email address, and login credentials (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider). Used to create and secure your account. Basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Listing data — organization or business name, contact name, phone, email, website, address, and location coordinates for shows, service listings, and horse listings, plus photos and videos you upload. Used to publish your listing and power location and distance search. Some of this is intentionally public; contact details on horse listings are shown only to signed-in users. Basis: performance of contract.
• Saved lists and favorites — the shows, providers, and horses you save. Used to show your list across devices. Basis: performance of contract.
• Approximate location — if you use "search near me", your browser-provided coordinates. Used only for that search. Basis: your consent, which your browser asks for.
• Support messages — what you send us and our replies. Used to help you. Basis: legitimate interests in supporting our users.
• Usage and technical data — IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, and error reports. Used for security, fraud prevention, debugging, and improving the site. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Subscription records — plan, status, and billing period for paid listings. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment provider, not by us. Basis: performance of contract and legal obligation.

Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — our hosting, database, authentication, file storage, mapping and geocoding, and email providers, acting on our instructions.
• Paddle — our Merchant of Record for the sale of paid listings. Paddle handles checkout, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and related customer service.
• Other users and the public — the parts of your listing you choose to publish. Don't put anything in a listing you would not want publicly visible.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where needed.
• Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law, or to protect our rights or users' safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Account, listing, and saved-list data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account or a listing, we remove it from the site and delete or anonymise the underlying records within 90 days, except where we must keep records longer for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal reasons. Technical logs are kept for a short retention period and then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent — such as location access or marketing email — you can withdraw it at any time. You can also ask us not to sell or share your personal data, although we do not do either. Email support@findahorseshow.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.

International transfers

We and our providers operate in the United States, so if you contact us from outside the US your data may be transferred there. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level access controls in our database, and restricting sensitive contact details to signed-in users or the listing owner. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and review it as the site grows.

Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, to remember favorites you save before creating an account, and to remember interface preferences. Our checkout provider sets cookies needed to process a purchase. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though sign-in will stop working if you block the necessary ones.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
